Honeymoon Flashback Part 2

Continuation from my previous entry.

Day 2 :
We got up early and when for a morning walk at the beach a.k.a Surfer's Paradise. Not many people over there, even the town was so peaceful and I wonder at what time do they go to work....hmm nevermind, forget about that. Ok matahari kat sini memang terik ye, pagi-pagi dah tersengih-sengih.
Ok now is the time to take our rented car which the deal has been done a day before. For your info, there are few car rental services and if you are 'rajin' enough to survey from one shop to one shop, you are welcome to do so. But as for us after one or two shops, then we decided to rent from a shop which is located as the same row with Maharani Malaysian Seafood Restaurant. Choices are from compact, sedan, mpv or suv. Price...not much different from each other.
Ehem..ehem. "Dahla Azilawati oiii, ekau jangan nak beranganlah sewo keto tuh",said En Zairin...."Eh, bukan ni ke. Kata sayang dan apa saja untukmu.Baru 2 hari kahwin dah mungkir janji..erkkk, merajuk kejapla".
Hehehe...xde pun adegan merajuk2 tuh, melampau la pulak kan. Jadi inilah kereta yang disewa.
Ok now let's have fun.In Gold Coast itself they have plenty of theme parks such as Dreamworld, Seaworld, Warner Brothers Movie World, Wet & Wild Water World & Whitewater World. After discussing, we decided to go to Movie World & Sea World only...*please bear in mind that for you to really enjoy every moment, you need to spend 1 whole day at each of the theme parks.Budget yang En Zairin keluarkan hanya untuk 7 hari aje ye bukan sebulan, kalo nak lebih dari itu, tido atas pasir pantai je la....* and the Theme Parks Super Pass can be purchased from the hotel concierge service..very the easy peasy.

Warner Brothers Movie World (click here for more details)
They have the shows & performances schedule. You can choose the one that you are interested most. Anyway at Movie World they have this one HALAL Restaurant buffet-style..*but i can't remember the name*... and Musollah.

Day 3 :
Sea World (click here for more details)
As usual, we started the day with having breakfast at Ali Baba's Kebab, tapau 2 sets of kebab for us to survive till 5pm because there was no information about any HALAL restaurant in Sea World. Unfortunately, no outside foods or drinks are allowed....*nak curik-curik bawa takut sebab negara orang kan, lagipun kalo kena rampas rugi woooo*..... so those kebabs that we bought in the morning was our dinner for that night and can you imagine the look....a lil bit watery...hahaha....belasah jer asal kenyang.

p/s: More stories on day 4,5 and 6 on the next entry.

Ikan Bakar Jeram, Kuala Selangor !!

Weekend lepas (cuti Krismas hari Isnin malam Selasa), pergi jalan-jalan cari makan dengan keluarga sebelah En Zairin. Ada orang belanja, biras I,Nurul Shazwani namanya. Termasuk yang ni dah 2 kali kami makan kat area Jeram ni, rasanya dalam tahun lepas tapi tempat yang lain..*saling menyebelahi pun restoran2nya*....
*Tahun lepas kat sini Medan Ikan Bakar Pantai Jeram, adik En Zairin belanje, Izwan Shah*
Yang ni xde tangkap2 gambar bagai sebab masa 1st time datang terasa sangat jauhnye tempat ni, sampai2 memang dah xde mood sangat nak click2 camera.
At the same time my MIL is still queuing to choose the seafood and I decided to take a look. I can see that she took 'ikan pari', 'ikan bawal hitam' besar punya, and 'ikan siakap' semua 2 ekor setiap satu. And as I waited at the end of the counter, near me is the prawn and there are 2 sizes, A and B. So I ask my MIL, "Mama kita nak amik udang yang besar ke yang kecik?" and she replied, "Amik yang besar ni", and I was like, hmmmm bestnye coz the prawn was like huge, ni bukan udang kepala je besar tapi badan kecik ye, tapi udang yang badan besar. Then while choosing i ask again, "Mama, nak amik bape ekor ni? and she replied, "Amik je banyak-banyak, tauke besar bayar" .....hahahahaha bestla mak mertua I ni. I pun ape lagi kaut, kaut dan kaut la.
Unfortunately I didn't manage to snap photo of all the foods coz Azfar was grumbling all the way. Only these.....
*buttered prawn size A*
*sotong goreng tepung*

*tomyam campur*

List of foods variety that we actually ordered:
1. Ikan pari bakar - 3 pinggan (setiap satu anggaran untuk 3 org makan
2. Ikan bawal (besar) 3 rasa - 2 ekor (setiap ekor anggaran untuk 4 org makan
3. Ikan siakap stim - 2 ekor (setiap ekor anggaran untuk 4 org makan
4. Udang size A goreng butter - 4 pinggan (setiap satu ada dalam anggaran 10-12 ekor
5. Sotong goreng tepung - 4 pinggan (setiap satu anggaran untuk 4 org makan
6. Tomyam campur - 4 mangkuk (setiap satu anggaran untuk 3 org makan)
7. Kailan ikan masin - 4 pinggan (setiap satu anggaran untuk 3 org makan

Komen:

1.Harga ~ aaaamatlah berpatutan (kat restoran satu lagi pun)....berbaloi-baloi
2.Masakan ~ tak berapa kicklah tomyam dan ikan 3 rasa
3.Servis ~ 1/10...sorry itulah realitinya.

Honeymoon Flashback Part 1

Seeing everyone going for holidays all over the places during this longgg school break, reminds me of our honeymoon trip to Brisbane & Gold Coast, Australia which was like 2 and half years back. My first international trip was to Busan & Seoul, Korea which was with my 9th College, Universiti Malaya, Art & Cultural Group. As to compared these 2 countries, for me Australia is way much better and interesting in terms of the community, cleanliness and the culture...hahaha. Well that's my own personal opinion, different people might have their own experience so don't get emotional with my honest statement.

Our honeymoon was fully sponsored and well planned from A-Z by ...... En Zairin Shah a.k.a my husband of coz. It was a 8days and 7 nights trip....weeehuuuu....honeymoon sakan. Thank youlah Mr Husband.
We flew with Malaysia Airlines Boeing Triple 7...........*betapa En Zairin mengutamakan keselesaan ye...no Air Asia...hahahaha* and the plane took off at 9 am on Monday, which was a day after our reception. The total of 8 hours plus about an hour transit at Sydney journey was fulfilled by us with sleeping (most of the time coz we are sooo exhausted), watching and listening to our favourite movies and musics (got individual screen in front of the seat) and chit chatting with the passenger beside me who is from Sarawak.

Upon Arrival:
I was so happy and excited as the plane touched down at Brisbane Airport. Keluar je airport terus hembus-hembus nafas...haaaahaaaa....keluar asap, agak jakun sikit ye sebab selama ni tengok cite omputih cakap-cakap keluar asap cam best jer kan. Ok while waiting for the
coach, ape lagi tangkap gambar la but for me to posing maut tak dapekla because that time it was winter season and the temperature was like 11c - 20c . Ala not even negative celcius pun. Yup i know, but i've been brought up and live in Malaysia's hot and humid weather for 29 years. So i'm relying on my jacket and En Zairin to provide me with heat..owh baru-baru kawen dan peluk2 dalam cuaca sejuk memang best..hehehee. En Zairin has got no problem because his lapisan lemak yang tebal dari I and bulu-bulu yang lebat sangat membantu wokey.

Hopped on the coach and here we come Gold Coast. We really enjoyed the night view all along the way which makes the 1 hour journey exciting. After checking-in at Watermark Hotel & Spa, we shoot to our room and Zzzzzzzzz soundly till the next morning opss almost noon actually...*full energy needed for us to start our vacation*.

Day 1:
We purposedly wake up at 10am, it was noon already as we didn't plan to do much activities. What we did was walking through out the streets to get used to it...*not tiring at all because the weather is cold*, study the map, survey for the best car rental deal, window shopping...*window shopping jer? A'ah cukup la tuh, harga bukannye murah gile2 pun dan En Zairin x layan shopping2 ni, maaf ye katenye* ..., checking on any other halal restaurants other than Maharani Malaysian Seafood Restaurant that was found in website. This Maharani restaurant only opens at 5pm...puffff....and we are depending on Ali Baba's Kebab during the day...*bolehla kebab dia big portion pun*.
Dah penat jalan balik hotel dulu, sempat tido kejap bangun-bangun dah pukul 6pm dan kat luar dah gelap. Siap cepat-cepat and terus pergi Maharani....nak makanan Malaysia jugak...aduhai, baru sehari ada kat Aussie dah rinduuu tapi bila ada kat Malaysia sibuk cari western foodlah konon...aishhhh. The restaurant space is quite small and it was almost fully occupied when we arrive because there was reservation for this one rombongan group from Malaysia also. But we managed to squeezed in as it was only the two of us....hehheheee..... Ok now let's see the menu, ermmm not bad, the standard Malaysian foods la...and i feel like ordering this and that but after seeing the prices...wallaaaaa....we exchanged look and En Zairin's face expression was like trying to say 'Tolongla jangan order banyak2, kopak saya'. Ok2 saya order satu menu jer ye sayang, Cantonnese fried kuey teow for me and nasi ayam for En Zairin, for drinks plain water and 1 teh tarik , itu macam punya order convert duit kita adalah RM 100 hengget....waaaa hargailah setiap butir nasi yang dimakan selama melancong ke o-be-se ye. Sila layan gambar....
* Waktu-waktu solat di Gold Coast.
* Ali Baba's Kebab Restaurant kesayangan kami.
* Asyik poyo En Zairin jalan2 di Gold Coast
* View dari bilik hotel
* Aksi poyo I kat lobby hotel

* Ini lah Maharani Malaysian Seafood Restaurant
* Pasangan baru kawen jalan2 and posing2 tangkap gambar

P/S: Another true story behind these stories is, I had fever, that came with a package of shivering and headache....pufffff....gagahkan jua diri ini untuk.... Kita Enjoyyyyy!!!
P/S: En Zairin, bila agaknye kita akan pergi lagi...hhaahahah.

Ok to be continued in Part 2.

Demam Ombak Rindu!

Demam Ombak Rindu sedang melanda kita semua (bohongla semua, maksud I kebanyakan). Memang tengah panas, hot, laku... kiri, kanan, ataih, bawah, depan, belakang, hujung sana, hujung sini orang sibok dok kata pasai ceghita ni, lagi -lagi kaum hawa maklumla hero dia Aaron Aziz. Tapi bagi I yang dah gi tengok filem ni, (berlagak skit sebab dah tengok) kredit harus diberikan kepada semua pelakon dan pengarah sebab filem ni santai tetapi lakonan mereka amat hidup...tepuk tangan...tepuk tangan.

I never know about the popularity of Ombak Rindu novel, until this film was produced and people start saying about it since the first day of the released. What makes me badly wanted to watch this movie (sampai sanggup ambil risiko angkut Azfar masuk panggung sebab si husband kerja cari rezeki, bak kata dia untuk membesarkan anak dan juga bini yang dah sediakala besar ) was because, one of my male friend who is known for his budget-bagus-punya attitude, did give a very positive comment about this film and he admitted that this movie really touched his heart (sampai mengalir air mata jantan) huh? betoi ka?

Movie starts at 2pm and I was 15 minutes late...hmmm..what to do. Then the next challenge is how to handle Azfar, he doesn't want to sit quietly, habis kepala orang depan semua dia usik..kids at this age memangla tak reti dok diam Azila ooii. I must do something because I can't leave the hall just like that, so I went out to buy popcorn and gave it to him and we did not sit on the chair that i paid for RM14. I lepak dan dok bersila kat ruang kosong yang tepi pintu masuk and let him do whatever he wants too. For the 1st 30-40 minutes, memang tak dapat feeling-feeling sangat la.

Ok, I don't want to do the synopsis of this movie, potong la pulak nanti kan, just go and watch.

*watak-watak utama*

*love this villa*

*happy ending*

p/s: Jangan lupa bawak tisu ye, tak kiralah lelaki,perempuan,separuh-separuh atau lembut, gagah, lemah, ganas, separuh-separuh ....pasti akan menitiskan air mata. Kalau tak, maksudnya tak menjiwaila.

Suhwetttt !

Just a short entry. Sebab I takut ada yang muntah hijau

'You ni sweet jer' ...huh? repeat again. 'You ni sweet jer' :o erkk.... i was like floating in the air when she came out with that phrase. 'She' is someone from somewhere that my company is dealing with. Although this is not the first time hearing other people saying that to me but it has been such a longgg time ago since i heard that phrase... wow what a 'perasan-giler-pengakuan' that i've made.

*Mode : Happy*

Yummies....

I'm a western food lover. I juz love italian food so much. One of my favourite is lasagna, top with chicken gravy, accompanied by coleslaw & mashed potato.....oooooo sedapnyeeee. The one & only place that i like to enjoy my lasagna is at Dave's Deli Restaurant. I have been eating at this place since form 3 and that was like 15 years back and the taste still remain the same. I have tried many other places but Dave's Deli's lasagna is still the best.... unfortunately the one in Subang Parade has been closed or it has been relocated, not so sure about that. So to fulfill my cravingness i have decided to bake my own lasagna using my own recipe....simple n easy.

Ingredients for the filling are garlic, yellow onion, minced beef/chicken, chillie paste, tomato puree, tomato sauce, sliced button mushroom, diced carrot & celery (optional), some water, some herbs (oregano & bay leaves) and salt. Layered using lasagna sheets.

Covered with bechamel sauce. Ingredients are butter, fresh milk, flour and salt. Then i topped with grated cheddar & parmesan cheese. Sprinkle a little bit of oregano flakes. (optional)

Then bake till the lasagna sheet becomes soft and the topping becomes golden brown.

It should look something like this or better. This one i ate with the chicken gravy.

Not enough on madness-for-lasagna, my *gatal-punye-tekak* wanted to eat spaghetti. And instead of using the same recipe, i started to search for the delicious yet simple recipe and i found this blog, www.thefoodsandus.blogspot.com . This particular blog is juz perfect for me, 1001 western recipes in it.I tried the spaghetti bolognese meatball recipe, simple but does not really fit my taste.

This is how it looks. The meatballs are not so bad but for the spaghetti sauce, i prefer my own version.

BaaChak! Creative

With BaaChak! Creative existance, i'm now an entrepreneur...hahaha really? Well hopefully with the diaper cakes/cupcakes collections kick start will lead me to be a well known online entrepreneur on babies/children stuffs (wah berangannye). I like cute and adorable things and all babies/children stuffs are cute, don't you think so?

How does BaaChak! Creative came up and you might be wondering what on earth is this thing called diaper cake/cupcakes. When i first heard about this, what came across my mind was the diaper with the 'poopoo' and 'weewee' being transformed into cakes??? EEuuuu....and i was imagining Azfar's 'poopoo' and not forgetting the strong smell that can kill a fly (sorry dear, ummi just can't keep that as a secret between us).

I was so eager to know more about this and one day as i browse around for the informations, fuhhh there you go, my jaw dropped and all i can say is diaper cakes are sooooooooo adorable, cute, unique, practical and stylish, fun and elegant, gorgeous, charming....and the list goes on and on. Then I started dreaming someone giving me diaper cake as a gift for Azfar (sapela yang nak bagi pulak and on what purpose?) . I was thinking and dreaming about it for few days and one fine day (somewhere in August), I thought of giving a try to make it using my own precious hands and well...well...to make thing even better, there is going to be a new member of the family (on my husband's side) in few weeks time.

First attempt, there are a lot of try n error, adjust here and there and finally...taaadaaaa...
